Toilet Training Troubles!

I've just started toilet training my 2yr old daughter. Having trouble getting past her just sitting on the toilet but not doing anything. Any advice on things people found successful would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey,

My husband worked in child care and he suggests to have her wear undies all the time and take her to the toilet every half hour, straight after food and water (just like a puppy). Make them her special undies, she will be less likely to soil them when she figures out how special the are. He said if you need to put a nappy on (if your going out or have guests over) put the undies on top of her nappy (so she thinks she is wearing her special undies) and still take her to the toilet regularly.

they are some great ideas tash
also i found bribery goes along way! if you do a wee on the toilet you can have a lolly etc
2 is very young-she may just not be ready, you could wait a month or so and then see if she is interested

Last week I was talking to some other mums about this very problem...my daughter has been in pull ups since around 18 mths and will be 2 on 3 March...one of the mums was saying that she had put her daughter in undies one day and after two or three accidents she had literally scared herself into going to the loo rather than weeing in her pants. All mum did after the accidents was to get her changed.

Today at day care I was talking to one of her day care workers and we decided that my daughter will be ready to go into undies as soon as possible. Although with how busy we are at the moment we have decided that we will do a trial day next Tuesday whilst she is at day care. I will be providing them with plenty of undies, clean clothes and pull-ups. We figure she will either scare herself into going to the loo, which she appears to be very interested in, or into going back into nappies. Fingers crossed that it is the former rather than the latter. She is a very bright energetic young lady and would rather be with the three year olds rather than kids her own age.
